Roses. Chocolate. A cheesy stuffed animal. While these things work for your favorite valentine, why not do something unexpected?
One of our favorite things to do is to go on an adventure in a new part of town that we have never explored. Bundle up, dress cute, and just go on a walk. As you walk by the stores, talk about this last year. What have been the things that you’ve been most excited about? Where do you think you could have improved? What has been going on in your life that your significant other doesn’t know about? Find something that you love doing together. Go dancing. Go rock climbing. Find a random frozen yogurt place and pile on the toppings. Go back to the place where you first met. Where did you have your first date? Is there anything that you used to do together but don’t anymore because you “don’t have time”?
Can’t afford a night on the town? Can’t find a babysitter? We know how that goes. Find a great movie on Netflix that you have been saving and snuggle up to watch it together. Or watch an old favorite. One of my favorite sites for dating ideas is actually http://www.thedatingdivas.com/ They have tons of printables and games and more ideas than you could ever imagine for just having fun together as a couple.
More than anything, this night is about the two of you. So make it count!
Ruth booked a Desire Portrait session with me to give to her husband an album of her beautiful photos on their anniversary. From the beginning I praised her for taking the step to book this session. I hear so many women say “I have always wanted to do a session like this but…….” and then comes the excuses. They will say, I’m too fat, need to lose 10 lbs or more, too old, I’m not sexy etc. etc. None of these things matter. All women are beautiful and a session like this should be on every woman’s bucket list, no matter what. These sessions a styled specific to you and what You are wanting and fits our comfort level. You get professional hair and makeup and I will guide you with posing and lighting that will reveal your inner and outer beauty. So yes, I praised Ruth for braving these excuses and fears and did this for her husband but I have to say every women I have photographed have had an amazing experience. I can’t tell you how exhilarating it is for me to see how these women blossom and become a beautiful powerful woman before my eyes. Whew! I love it!
I am posting before and after pictures of Ruth as an example. I hope you can really see for yourself what a beautiful and powerful women Ruth reveals in her after photo.

Edmund contacted me to photograph him in a 40’s 50’s style black and white portrait. What fun! He needed them for a movie audition. This request was out of the norm but I was really excited for the challenge. I think they turned out
great and Edmund was thrilled at the result.
